About the Poem

I must confess that I read this as a joke in my nephew's joke book and decided to turn it into a poem. It's about one of those 'first day at a new school' experiences where the teacher tries to get everyone to feel at ease by asking silly questions.

Half Truths

'Timmy, please tell the class
What does your father do?'
'Miss, he's a magician
He saws people in two'.

'So, who else lives with you?'
'Well, there's me, my mother
My two half-sisters and
My other half-brother'.
